AC Shadows Unveils Bizarre Attack on Titan Crossover for Holiday Season
In a surprising collaboration that challenges traditional forecasts, Ubisoft has announced an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Uncovered
According to the authorized announcement, "A strange confrontation pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where hints of forbidden ceremonies and terrifying transformations resonate through the darkness." The plot introduces a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a secret sect.
The adventure concentrates on "bizarre tests and a terrifying enemy" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Changes
The teaser highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer finishes with a dramatic scene showing a character, likely the hostage, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Additional Content
Players who successfully complete the adventure will receive an unique katana in addition to multiple objects concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Exclusive weapons
- Survey Corps steed
Newest Free Story Update
This patch also introduces the game's third complimentary story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive skills: Naoe debuts a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.
