Prince William Set to Attend UN Climate Conference in Brazil
Prince William will represent the United Nations climate conference in South America next month, as confirmed by palace sources.
The father and son duo made a joint appearance on Thursday night at a gathering leading up to the environmental conference, which is scheduled to take place in the Amazonian city of Belém.
Father and son were in attendance at the museum gathering, marking an unusual joint appearance at a climate summit preparatory event arranged together with the United Kingdom administration.
Climate Leadership Commitment
King Charles has been a long-time champion of environmental conservation - and Prince William has taken on the baton, with his own Earthshot awards, which will be taking place in South America before the COP summit.
Palace insiders have characterized Prince William's attendance at the forthcoming conference as assuming an important role in "climate diplomacy".
Previous Activities
The King and Prince of Wales, making a joint entrance in the official car, were introduced to attendees such as environmentalists, researchers, climate change campaigners, diplomats and politicians.
This engagement featured addresses alongside President Emmanuel Macron of the French Republic and other world leaders at the Ocean Finance Summit in Monaco in recent months.

The climate conference will align with the the royal's sustainability recognition program, which will conclude in the Brazilian city the day before he attends the climate conference on 6 November.

King Charles has been a influential participant at previous climate summits, delivering the inaugural speech in the United Arab Emirates for COP28, including the observation: "Our responsibility is to protect the world we inhabit".
"I have spent a significant amount of my life trying to alert people to the critical dangers confronting humanity over planetary heating, global temperature increases and species extinction," the monarch informed participants.
